Food Porn Fridays by Grubwithus: Sandwiches!
Happy Food Porn Fridays, Grubbers! It’s been a while - we’ve been working on improving the site, but now we’re back with some succulent, sinful, lusty images of the stuff you wouldn’t admit eating in a sfw environment.
Enjoy these pictures of bread, meat, and cheese lying on top of each other in a delicious pile of carnal, caloric splendor.

Grubwithus in O, The Oprah Magazine!
O, The Oprah Magazine has a great feature on Grubwithus and our founders this month! Swing by a newsstand or get it on your iPad. Here’s a brief excerpt to whet your whistle:
“We arrived with no social network and now we have 25 real friends in Chicago.” And all because they remembered that before Facebook, there was food. “People say this is forward-thinking,” Sugano says. “But making time to eat together is old-school. We’re just going back to basics.”
Grubwithus feeds techies at Techcrunch Disrupt!
Hey everybody – if you’re in tech in N.Y.C. and also love good food and company, then you should probably check out our N.Y.C. Tech group’s meals during the Techcrunch Disrupt conference.
But don’t worry! You can still go to the meals even if you’re not attending the conference. It’s a great way to experience the tech culture around the conference if you don’t have the time or money to go all in. Think of it like a tech appetizer sampler.
There are two meals left in the group – one on 21st and another the 22nd. Remember, though, if they sell out or aren’t your speed, you can always create your own!

Jaime Oliver’s Food Revolution Day is May 19th, and we are partnering with him and his organization to get conversations started at 30+ locations in major cities about the health epidemic and how to change what we think about food to fight it.
This is your opportunity to start talking about food in a real way while contributing some cash to keep this worldwide conversation going. 100% of the net funds will go to Jaime Oliver’s food education programs in the US, UK, and Australia.
Where does your food come from? What exactly are you putting in your body, and what does that mean for your health, your family, and the restaurants your frequent? These are some of the questions at the heart of Food Revolution. So book your social dining experience (check them out below!) to meet other concerned members of the real food revolution.

On the heels of Obama’s brilliant/well-time/controversial announcement of his full support for same-sex marriage, Grubwithus is proud to host our first-ever Table Talks event to raise money for the San Francisco-based group Pride PAC.
You pay $30 for a seat at Canela in the Castro, another $25 to help keep Pride PAC going strong, and you get an evening of candid, hilarious, delicious discussion about the issues facing the LGBT community, Obama’s announcement, and how amazing the coca flatbread is. Buy your seat while you can!
Table Talks is a new partnership we’re launching with a service called Democracy Engine. It’s a non-partisan web-based platform that helps people raise money for social and political groups. Together, we are going to use Table Talks to simultaneously keep people talking about the issues that matter to them while raising money to make things happen in the real world. Got an issue you’re passionate about? Why don’t you suggest a political meal now.
I went to my first Grubwithus meal recently, and I was unsure what to expect. However, when I ended up dining with a professional juggler, a CEO days away from launching his photo-sharing app, and a songwriter for “Glee,” I became more sure of what to expect: connecting to people that are more complex than their online profile.
Other than the problem of being too full to drive afterward, the experience was richer than I anticipated. I, of course, stalked the people attending but was happy to find out after the meal their most interesting facets were not even on their profiles. In 2012, it’s easy to forget the importance of actually being social and not just socially networking.
Also, get the bread pudding at Masa. It’s the size of Shaquille O’Neal’s shoe.

We’ve got chickens! What are chickens, you ask? Good question.
Chickens are our social currency. They’re our version of voting up on Reddit, liking on Facebook, thumbing up on Stumbleupon, cheering at a concert…you get the idea. When you are awesome at a Grubwithus meal, other users people can and should give you chickens!
Why chickens? Well, like so many great digital ideas, this one was hatched at SXSW. After seeing how our users loved the chicken, one of our developers suggested we put them on the site. We agreed.
Ladies & Gents,
We’re bringing you an amazing partnership with The Manhattan Cocktail Classic and Edible Manhattan. Part festival, part fête, part conference, part cocktail party – the Manhattan Cocktail Classic is an annual celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture.
Before heading to the infamous Gala, make sure you fill-up at one of our delicious dinners taking place at restaurants like Blue Water Grill, Haru, Asellina Ristorante and Bhojan. And don’t worry if you weren’t able to purchase a Gala ticket - you can start your own meal before or after any of the other 100 events taking place across Manhattan.
Hope to see you there! Cheers.
We’re social online and off.
Tweet, Like, g+ and now… Pin it! Next time you’re reserving your seat or staring at the tantalizing food porn on Grubwithus, make sure you Pin it to your Pinterest pinboard.
As always, happy grubbing!
